With the support of Open Ukraine Foundation Larysa Venedyktova together with TanzLaboratorium Theatre took part in the IXth Zawirowania Dance Theatre Festival that took place in Warsaw. During the Festival the talented regisseur presented her performance and installation Violence of Possibility.
Supported by Arseniy Yatsenyuk ‘Open Ukraine’ Foundation, Yaroslav Fedoryshyn, Manager-Art Director of Lviv Academic Theatre “Voskresinnia” (‘Resurrection’), Manager-Art Director of ‘Zolotiy Lev’ (‘Golden Lion’) International Theatrical Festival, Honored Artist of Ukraine visited International Hanoch Levin Theatrical Festival that was held from 17 to 26 June 2013 in Tel Aviv.
‘Dash Arts’ Agency, known on the cultural stage of London for its big-scale presentations of contemporary artistic life outside the borders of the EU, drew its look on “the East” – “countries of the former USSR”, which is almost entirely “invisible” so far to British in cultural terms. The first event, targeting this purpose and supported by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, was the meeting with Oksana Zabuzhko. The meeting was promoted widely by the media and held by the Agency jointly with the English PEN-Club in popular art-café ‘Rich Mix’ on the occasion of her novel “The Museum of Abandonned Secrets”, which recently was published in English translation and already succeeded in attracting attention of British reader.
Sponsored by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation, Tymofiy Havryliv, Ukrainian writer, traveled to Norway to participate in the biggest literature festival Norsk Litteraturfestival in the countries of the Northern Europe that is already being held for the 19th time this year.
Supported by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, Lada Nakonechna, Ukrainian artist and R.E.P. group member has travelled to Latvia to participate in "Revisiting Footnotes" exhibition and symposium. As part of the event Lada Nakonechna presented her work “Earlier. Now. Further.” in the exhibition hall of the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, and presented R.E.P. group activities to the symposium’s participants.
The International Documentary Film Festival Visions du Réel was held From 19 to 26 April, 2013. With the support of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation Victoria Leshchenko, program coordinator of the International Documentary Film Festival on Human Rights Docudays UA, made a trip to this top event in the field of cinema.
From 13 to 18 April 2013 in New York City took place another festival of Ukrainian and post-Soviet cinema KINOFEST NYC. With the support of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation Ukrainian writer and screenwriter Kateryna Babkina represented Ukraine at the film shorts section at KINOFEST NYC, and personally presented the film Evil, which was filmed based on her script.
24th May at 19.00 in the creative space Chasopys Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation starts another meeting of the Art Club Faces. This time, the guest will be traveler and writer Maksym KIDRUK. The author of the first in Ukraine techno-thriller Bot will tell why commercialization of the book is important, why there are still no “millionaires” like King or Brian Patterson in Ukraine and why it is important to find new niches in modern Ukrainian literature.
On the eve of the Easter holidays Art Club Faces gathered guests for musicale of the young singer Maryna Zubko. The talented singer sang Ukrainian, German romances and folk songs as presented by Ukrainian composers. Maryna sang some songs in a duet with Tetyana Chayka, a student of Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music. Musical accompaniment provided Natalia Shevchenko (piano) and the duet Insight of Ihor Hopchuk (accordion) and Natalia Chahla (Bandura).
With the support of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation Nataliya Fomenko, harpsichord teacher and concert performer took part in the international harpsichordist competition “Wanda Landowska Harpsichord Competition”, which took place in late March in Italy. Nataliya represented historically-oriented performance, which is a very important trend in European countries.
