Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation invites you for regular meeting of the Art Club "Faces" that will take place 25 September at 19.00 in the creative space "Chasopys." This time the guest will be a well-known writer, journalist, broadcaster and documentary filmmaker Yuriy MAKAROV. Author is presenting his new book Quarter to Ten.
From 10 to 15 September the anniversary Publishers' Forum took place in Lviv partner of which was Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation. This year, the 20th Publishers' Forum in Lviv has become the most prominent literary event and gathered more than 55,000 visitors. It was attended by nearly 750 participants from 23 countries, including 370 authors and representatives from 220 publishing houses. The Forum events were attended by more than 500 journalists from 270 Ukrainian and foreign media. 410 books are nominated for the award The Best Book of the Forum 2013. The Forum’s program consisted of over 800 events and over 250 autograph sessions.
The Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation invites book fans to attend the 20th Anniversary Lviv Book Fair that takes place on 10-15 September. Under the booth No 113 the Foundation will present its Book Fund grant program of translations of contemporary Ukrainian literature in foreign languages.
A translated book is a huge bridge between Ukraine and other countries of the world. It is cultural and geographical manual for a foreign reader who has read it. This was highlighted by Tereziya Yatsenyuk, the Head of the Supervisory Council of the Open Ukraine Foundation, during the press-conference on September, 3, devoted to the opening of the 20th Book Forum in Lviv.
With the support of Open Ukraine Foundation Larysa Venedyktova together with TanzLaboratorium Theatre took part in the IXth Zawirowania Dance Theatre Festival that took place in Warsaw. During the Festival the talented regisseur presented her performance and installation Violence of Possibility.
Supported by Arseniy Yatsenyuk ‘Open Ukraine’ Foundation, Yaroslav Fedoryshyn, Manager-Art Director of Lviv Academic Theatre “Voskresinnia” (‘Resurrection’), Manager-Art Director of ‘Zolotiy Lev’ (‘Golden Lion’) International Theatrical Festival, Honored Artist of Ukraine visited International Hanoch Levin Theatrical Festival that was held from 17 to 26 June 2013 in Tel Aviv.
‘Dash Arts’ Agency, known on the cultural stage of London for its big-scale presentations of contemporary artistic life outside the borders of the EU, drew its look on “the East” – “countries of the former USSR”, which is almost entirely “invisible” so far to British in cultural terms. The first event, targeting this purpose and supported by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, was the meeting with Oksana Zabuzhko. The meeting was promoted widely by the media and held by the Agency jointly with the English PEN-Club in popular art-café ‘Rich Mix’ on the occasion of her novel “The Museum of Abandonned Secrets”, which recently was published in English translation and already succeeded in attracting attention of British reader.
On June 20 in ‘Chasopys’ Creative Space the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation initiated a poetry and music evening as part of ‘FACES’ Art Club featuring Oksana Borovets, Yaroslav Dzhus and Maksym Berezhnyuk.
On June 20 at 7 p.m. the website www.openukraine.org will host webcast of ‘FACES’ Art Club. On the programme: presentation of “417 Minibus or the Tree of Buddhas” book by Oksana Borovets with participation of Yaroslav Dzus’, famous bandura player and Maksym Berezhnyuk, musician of bands “Dudar Band” and “Veseli Vuyki”.
Sponsored by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation, Tymofiy Havryliv, Ukrainian writer, traveled to Norway to participate in the biggest literature festival Norsk Litteraturfestival in the countries of the Northern Europe that is already being held for the 19th time this year.
