Victoria Kravchenko and Victor Komarenko, Cand.Sc. (Biology) explained the difference in brain structure of men and women, and how the brain works during their lecture “Gender psychophysiology – He and She” organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk "Open Ukraine" Foundation
The hall was overcrowded – almost 200 people were animatedly listening about the differences in the behavior of men and women, reasons for different reactions to the same situation and the features of the brain organization. Lecturers focused their attention on the peculiarities in the functioning of the brain of men and women and on the factors that entail appropriate strategies for information processing and influence behavior patterns.
In addition to basic theoretical concepts the lecturers carried out a series of physiological tests, during which guests could find out their testosterone levels: the smaller the result is in relation to the index given, the lower is the level of this hormone. Also the scientists explained the differences between apofocus spatial thinking (which is mostly inherent to men) and egocentric thinking (that is mostly peculiar for women).
Victoria Kravchenko and Victor Komarenko tried to focus not on issues of sex, but on those of gender, presenting the theme in lay manner, sometimes even joking a bit.
Tereziya Yatsenyuk, Head of Supervisory Council of the “Open Ukraine” Foundation thanked the lecturers for an informative discussion and noted that the Foundation is determined to keep working in this direction, launching a new project “Discover Yourself”.
“Today we learned a lot of new and interesting information, in particular why women and men are so different. And I think everyone will agree with me that we should be together anyway, be tolerant to each other, help, support and love each other, create families, have children and understand each other. And what is the most important – to be in unity, keeping in mind that we are different,” – said Tereziya Yatsenyuk.
