Christoph Weil during the Discussion Club Open World, which took place on September 26 in Kiev at the initiative of Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, noted that “the priority for Ukrainian government is the road to reforms. Ukraine must transform, reform the judicial system and the economy. We want to see how civil society and democracy is built in Ukraine.”

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine talked about what is most valuable for any state and stressed that he teaches his children “to thank God every day for living in a country with the rule of law and where they are feeling secure ".

Also Christoph Weil said that Ukraine has a chance to take its rightful place in Europe. “In economic terms, I'm sure if all provisions and requirements are met, the problem of corruption is overcome and the agreement will be signed, there will be a large flow of foreign investment. Ukrainian market and skilled workforce is a significant competitive advantage,” stressed the Ambassador. 

Christoph Weil confirmed that Germany has a strategic interest in Ukraine's membership in the EU. “In the case of signing the Association Agreement, I am sure that the German-Ukrainian relations, both political and economic, will develop rapidly. It is you - this generation that has to control this process,” addressed young people the Ambassador. “I do not see any obstacles for Ukrainian success” he concluded.
