What to Do With Russia?

25 June 2020, 15:39

New Kyiv Security Forum online discussion devoted to the "Russian problem", relations of Ukraine and the West with authoritarian Putin's Russia will be broadcasted on June 26, 2020 at 3 pm.

For the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, Vladimir Putin has prepared a special address to the international community, published in the American press. The biggest part is devoted to manipulations on a historical theme, which, in fact, justify the Stalinist regime. But the main purpose of Putin's message is not about history. First of all, he expects world leaders to recognize his "greatness" and calls to agree with him on new rules of coexistence.

The militaristic parade on Red Square had to confirm this idea.

However, the Kremlin's ambitions to restore global influence can not hide  the opposite reality  Russia's economic vulnerability, its large-scale national and social crisis, fear of the outside world and uncertainty in the future.

  • What to do with Russia?
  • What model of relations with the Kremlin should the West and Ukraine choose?
  • Are we able to learn how to effectively deter the Russian aggressor in the long run?

These issues will be addressed by our renowned guests:
