The city received 13,000 gloves, 1,000 FFP3 respirators and 135 suits for medical staff. The second part will come with COVID-19 tests and disinfectants.

The supplies were donated for further distribution according to the needs of city medical institutions to Chernivtsi City Hospital #1, identified as the main hospital in treating patients with COVID-19.

Leader of the People's Front faction in the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation Maksym Burbak stressed that the first part of the aid is coming to Chernivtsi, since the first cases of disease were detected right here, and now the largest number of patients have been identified in Bukovyna: "Those who stand in the forefront of the fight against coronavirus must be protected because they are now doing the most important job - protecting us from the coronavirus pandemic."

Chernivtsi Mayor Oleksiy Kaspruk expressed gratitude to the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation and to all those who care about the city's health care system, as well as support those who are now in a difficult position: "These are senior citizens, lonely people, large families for whom it is difficult to live through these times."

He added that the city is also expecting rapid tests for the detection of coronavirus already ordered by Arseniy Yatsenyuk Foundation.

The head of the department of anesthesiology, where the beds for intensive care are placed, Dmytro Bilous emphasized that nowadays humanity is fighting "with two viruses: coronavirus and fear."

"We are trying to overcome these two viruses now. I want to reassure the population. Medical staff is ready to work. We repurpose our hospital to an infectious one. And any help, especially like this one, is important to us. We serve the people of Ukraine!"

It should be reminded that Supervisory Council of the Foundation has decided to postpone Kyiv Security Forum, scheduled for April 23-24, 2020, and to devote all possible efforts and resources to the fight against the COVID-19 virus, since the security of our citizens has always came first for the Foundation.
