Gösta Ljungman, a Swedish national, has spent over 10 years in the IMF, working on diverse issues in a wide range of countries.
In his most recent assignment to Georgia, he helped negotiate and oversee the implementation of the country's Fund-supported program.
During 2010-12, Mr. Ljungman worked on the IMF's Ukraine team, with a special focus on fiscal issues.
Mr. Ljungman has also worked on fiscal reforms in Moldova, Montenegro, Ireland, Hungary, Serbia, Kyrgyz Republic, Kuwait, Oman and many other countries.
Mr. Ljungman has also been a frequent lecturer at their IMF's training institutes in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Ljungman worked in the Swedish Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Ljungman received his degree in Economics from Uppsala University. He is married with two children.
Discussion Club "Open World" is an educational project of the "Open Ukraine" Foundation for socially active young people. Its goal is to raise a new generation of responsible leaders. Every month the Foundation holds lectures with renowned experts, politicians and public figures, during which they discuss ways of effective solutions to social problems in Ukraine and in the world.
