Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation invites you to the discussion with Melinda Haring «Does Democracy Matter?». Mrs. Haring is an editor of the Atlantic Council’s well-known blog "Ukraine Alert". The event is conducted within the framework of the OUF Youth Discussion Club "Open World" and will be concentrated on the US assistance to Ukraine in the sphere of democracy development.
The blog «Ukraine Alert» is one of the most popular publications by the Atlantic Council (USA). Melinda Haring’s articles are reposted in Newsweek, KyivPost, Novoe Vremya, Huffington Post, Real Clear Defense, and the World Affairs Journal. Mrs. Haring has worked for a long time as an analyst on political developments in the Eurasian region. She is the author of the report "Reforming the Democracy Bureaucracy," and also a contributor to the book "Does Democracy Matter?" (2017) Melinda Haring has been working in the Eurasia Foundation, Freedom House and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in the past, where she was involved in the programs on assistance to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia. Mrs. Haring is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (USA).
The meeting will be conducted on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:00 pm. The venue: Bohdana Khmelnytskogo street 8/16, "Arthub" ("Ukrinform", near "Teatralna" metro station).
During the event, the guests will have the opportunity to discuss with Melinda Haring importance of American assistance to Ukraine in the sphere of democratic development and evaluate the efficiency of existing programs. Also, the discussion will touch upon the issues of values and their protection in the context of the growing totalitarian tendencies in the world.
