The Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation invites you to attend the meeting within the Discussion Club «Open World» on the topic «State of Reforms in Ukraine: Where should we move on?» with the former Minister of Finance of Slovakia, Chairman of the Strategic Group of Advisers on Reform Support in Ukraine Ivan Miklosh.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, October 5 at 19:00, at Bohdan Khmelnytsky str. 8/16, «Ukrinform».
During the Discussion Club, the Slovak politician will focus his attention on programs that Ukraine has already managed to implement within the framework of reform measures, what prospects are waiting for Ukraine in case of a successful continuation of reforms and what experience can be used for transformation so that the population of the country will feel the changes in the public sector.

Discussion Club «Open World» is an educational project of the «Open Ukraine» Foundation for socially active young people. Its goal is to raise a new generation of responsible leaders. Every month the Foundation holds lectures with renowned experts, politicians and public figures, during which they discuss ways of effective solutions to social problems in Ukraine and in the world.
Ivan Miklosh is an architect of successful system reforms in Slovakia. He served as a Deputy Prime Minister and Slovakia's Minister of Finance (2002-2006, 2010-2012), a Deputy Prime Minister for Economy (1998-2002), a Minister of Privatization (1991-1992). During 2006-2010 and 2012-2016 he had been serving as a Member of the Parliament of Slovakia.
In 2014 he headed the Slovak expert economic organization MESA10, became a member of the International Advisory Council of the National Council for Reforms in Ukraine and the platform VoxUkraine. Until April 2016 he was the main adviser to the Minister of Finance of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
Since April 2016, he has been the main economic adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and chairman of the Strategic Advisory Group on Reform Support. He is also one of the founders of the Center for Economic Strategy.
Ivan Miklosh is one of the leading figures in the economic transformation of Slovakia. He contributed to the accession of the Slovak Republic to the OECD and began an effective tax reform. Mr. Miklosh has headed the Government's program to restructure the economy and fiscal consolidation. Zurinda's second government (2002-2006) received a very reformist reputation due to tight austerity measures and a comprehensive program of structural reforms (tax, social, pensions, health care, public finance, labor market) with the support of Ivan Miklosh.
Thanks to these reforms, Slovakia joined the Eurozone in 2009. In 2004, Mr. Miklosh was named as the best Minister for finance of the year by Euromoney and the best reformer of the World Bank's Doing Business report.
Ivan Miklosh is the author of several books: The Book of Reforms (2005), Rewriting the Rules (2001), as well as dozens of research and articles in the media.
