Kyiv Security Forum

hero-image
The Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) was founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation in 2007. Over the course of nearly two decades, it has become Ukraine’s leading international platform for discussion on issues of war and peace. Our events are attended by prominent international leaders, politicians, diplomats, experts, activists and journalists.
The main mission of the Kyiv Security Forum is to promote the establishment of a just international order based on civilised principles, shared values and the rule of law.
The platform operates on several levels simultaneously:
  • keeping Ukraine at the forefront of the global agenda;
  • expanding our country’s circle of international partners;
  • developing expertise on pressing security issues.
In 2023, the KSF Security Council was established – an advisory group comprising prominent international and Ukrainian figures. Its members include the Chairman of the KSF Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014–2016 and founder of the Open Ukraine Foundation; General David Petraeus, Commander of the US Central Command in 2008–2010 and Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency in 2011–2012; Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee in 2021–2025; Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia in 2013–2015; Taavi Rõivas, Prime Minister of Estonia in 2014–2016; Natalie Yaresko, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Aspen Institute Kyiv, Minister of Finance of Ukraine in 2014–2016; Danylo Lubkivsky, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in 2014; Admiral Sir Antony David Radakin, Chief of the Defence Staff of the United Kingdom in 2021–2025.
Partners include NATO, the Atlantic Council and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
The KSF also extends beyond Ukraine’s borders: in 2026, the Forum co-organised an event for the first time as a part of the Munich Security Conference – one of the world’s leading security forums. The Ukrainian security agenda is being heard in the key decision-making circles.
